Feathered Death

Flocks of Feathered Deaths are a scourge that have been moving into Barsaive from both the Wastes and the Poison Forest. Their purpose and origin is unknown, but their arrival has forced a reckoning in the halls of power across Barsaive.
When first seen, Feathered Deaths appear to be no more than somewhat over-large geese, gliding across the ponds, lakes and rivers towards their intended victims. Their true nature is revealed when they emerge onto land or launch themselves into the air. Trailing from their undersides are a dozen blackened tentacles, each more than 10 feet long. They use these tentacles to walk on land, as well as to entangle their victims. They are ungainly but swift fliers. Their wings are not large enough to provide enough lift for their entire mass, so the tentacles undulate behind them, magically propelling them through the air. They can’t hover or attack as effectively while flying. However, they have been known to fly over victims in order to drop down on them and trap them in their tentacles.
When combat first begins, Feathered Deaths don’t seem to be terribly dangerous. However, whenever they take significant damage, they grow another neck and head and another attack. These additional heads can be targeted and attacked, reducing the number of attacks the Feathered Death has. However, each severed head will attempt to slither off and will eventually grow into a new Feathered Death. This is believed to be their only method of reproduction.
