Rumor: Karl was approached by a Dwarven Illusionist, Grorrealda Goldthane, who inquired about Tamerlan's library, especially the unique architecture on the top. Grorrealda found out that the basin can be used to look at places very far away, and the shiny brass rod can be seen from enormous distances. Combined she suspects that there is another retreat in an exposed location far away, with the brass rod being visible through the basin.
During their talks, Karl inquired about her view as an Illusionist, and is fascinated by the talent Dead Fall. Grorreald happily agrees to teach Karl in return for setting up a group and escorting her during the search and opening of a possible second retreat of Tamerlan.
