Further Information:
In an epic fight that left two of the party near death, the PCs have driven a Greater Named Wormskull (but the PCs don't know the Name) out of the bodies it was occupying, and helped the tribe throw off its influence and avoid reinfection.  But the horror is still out there, it has merely moved on looking for another community to torment.

[12H] Blow your horn, Hunter 2021-4-17

Deed: http://fasagames.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 842#p14842
The owner must learn the stag’s Name whose antlers adorn the helmet. The owner must find one of that stag’s legendary offspring and earn their antlers to replace on the helmet.

Learning the name of the stag is easy, since the antlers are famously those of Haga, the legendary stag mount of the even more legendary elvish master cavalryman Gildor Voronwe. Prior to becoming Master Voronwe's mount, Haga roamed the woods of the northwest Wyrm Wood. Prior to the scourge Master Voronwe was the noble who owned those lands. Looks like Daldorer is going to the Blood Wood.

Myself, William Carver, Ethereal and Jael all meet to assist Daldorer unlock one of his thread items. We have a brief discussion before leaving Throal about the best approach to entering the Blood Wood. We all decide to travel to Smugglers Respoit, seeking permission from the Blood Elves there to enter the wood. We find a BloodElf trader has set up shop at Smugglers Respite and we speak to him about entry into the wood. HE indicates he can get a message to the court and a response in a couple days, we just have to be patient.
We receive a reply in 3 days. It is signed by Count Serdan Veronu and it gives us permission to travel to his estate. Sons name is Idrel Varonu. He will provide an escort at a certain place, that is where we may enter the wood. The location is on the North Western side, we will circumvent the Bloodwood until that time. It will take us approximately 4 weeks. I purchased a mount to speed the travel up, it will only be about 3 weeks travel now.
Travel to the spot where we meet our escort is uneventful as we are keeping plenty of distance from the wood.
We meet the Great Grandson of the legendary cavalryman Gildor Voronwe. He leads us to the estate. It is very fancy and made of what looks like tree forts/houses. The great grandson says the grounds keeper here at the estate has picked up several sets over the years. He offers for Daldorer to pick which set he likes. There is the traditional kind and a couple of a newer type that seem to have spiky thorns. Daldorer decides on a set that are very similar to the originals. Same size, same style. A deal is struck for a straight trade plus Daldorer owes the Blood Elf a favor.
THe favor says there is a problem with a group of Orcs that have been raiding the borders of the Wood. They keep trying to set fire to the wood. We are to put a stop to the raids. We have a very nice dinner and will leave the next morning at dawn to try to put a stop to the raids.
On our way to the border we pass several spots of burned trees. Obvious attacks from the Orc raiders. There are a couple of dead Orc bodies at one of the burned spots. Daldorer does some spooky Nethermany stuff and talks to the dead? Or interacts with the dead, something like that. We find where the Orcs had picketed their horses. William is able to track the horse tracks out onto the plains. We make camp for the night, no fire. No ambushs or interactions during the evening. At about 40 miles from the Bloodwood we encounter many more signs of active life. THere are 2 Orcs watching over some cattle. When they notice us they ride out to meet us. We make greetings and have a conversation. William Carver speaks Orc and is able to communicate, I just sit back and listen.
THe rancher Orcs tell us the bosses are the ones who said the Elves were corrupted and need to burn the woods. They tell us the location on the bosses camp and we head out that way.
Upon reaching the camp a guard greets us and talks to us. These Orcs are nomadic and have lots of animals. THey are positive the Blood Elves are corrupted, William tries to enlighten them. We are invited to camp after doing a greeting ritual.
We make our way into camp and meet the elders at the camp fire. The Orcs are very interested in Selena and Charlie. THe Elders are CHattaka, Eldraz, and a few others. THey offer us refreshments and welcome us to their fire. After short pleasantries they ask what we are doing here. We have a long discussion with the leaders about how the Blood Elves are not horror tainted or corrupted, they will not believe us. After awhile William tells a story about how a Blood Elf sacrificed herself the assist him. The leader of the Orcs Chattack enrages at hearing this and attacks William. I intercept the attack, and all hell breaks loose. Several guards join in the battle to protect the elders. As the fight progresses several of the elder leak worms and maggots when dealt damage. We kill al the horror tainted and Chattak as he tried to fly off on Charlie. Except at the end of the battle, William carver reaches over to skin shift THorcal cause damage. THis is when we realize a horror had switched places with william. We are able to kill the horror, save William and save Thorkal.
THis horror had been leading the tribe of Orcs for about 50 years. I tried to detect horror in the area but the horror had some skill at hiding and using illusion magic. We travel back to the Bloodwood and talk to the Bloodelves, let them know there will be no more Orc attacks from the clan that was being lead by a Horror.

My name is William Carver. I am a Warden Scout, a Warden Thief, a Master on the path of the Journeyman, and a Journeyman Cavalry...Cavalier. There is much to talk about regarding that I suppose.

It has been some time since my last journal has been issued to Throal, I fear I have been busy since my time adventuring. I needed time alone as I was killed by my fellow adventurers, it was not their fault, but some wounds hit deeper than others.

The adventure started easy enough Daldorer needed to complete a deed for his helmet. We had to travel to a location within the bloodwood. We traveled to smuggler's rest and from there we were escorted to where we needed to go.

Daldorer needed to replace the horns on his helm with a descendent of the stag the original horns were from. We stayed for a while and I visited the grave of the Cavalryman.. Elvish Master Cavalier Gildor Voronwe. To have your pattern changed in such a way, but I digress.

We had to do a task in exchange for the horns, it was going to be a simple matter. We needed to deal with some orcs that were setting fire to the bloodwood. Finding them was easy and took little time. Dealing with them was more complex.

We found them, did our ritual greetings, and started to find a means to settle the issue, but it was not to be. Their chief was very aggressive towards the bloodwood, fanatical even. His reasons were flawed, but I can not say that they were wrong. He thought the bloodelves were corrupt and needed to be cleansed with fire. I tried to calm things down by using emotion song, and while it worked on most of them, it did not work on the chief. Rather it made the chief more angry.

It was then that I found myself bound magically bound and my position swapped with another, everything was hidden by illusion magic. It looked like I was where I was, but I wasn't, and it looked like I was who I was.. but I wasn't. I was unable to talk about certain things, such as telling my friends who I was and what happened to me. I could not tell the others what was going on, and then the battle started, or had just started. My friends did not know who I was, and I could not warn them of the danger, if I attacked myself Xevious would just cut me down, so I summoned Charlie to my side in an attempt to sway the others into thinking about who I was. Charlie knew me, and that really backfired. They thought Charlie was being controlled by the chief, it never dawned on them that it was me. I didn't engage in the fighting and the others quickly tore though some horrors that were within the group.

My not wanting to hurt the others cost me my life, I should have fled, I could outrun any of them, I could have done something, but I didn't. I trusted that they would know me and it got me killed. Foolish. I should know better the thief in me thought, you can't trust anyone and this proves it.

It was in that place between worlds that I spoke with the old Cavalier, what was said was between the two of us, but I could feel the changes, the knowledge that passed between us. My very pattern changed as a result, I could still feel that connection with Charlie, my connection with the stones at my feet, but my connections with the winds and water increased, I could feel the very storm within me start to brew, that whisper in my ear telling me to do it all myself, that it was the only way to be sure. When I awoke I knew what I had to do, what I had to change. I'd need time though, time to think and feel my way through it. We had more pressing matters though..

I honestly don't know what happened to horror that we fought, it isn't all consuming to me as it was to Xeviouz. My friends were able to revive me using a last chance or some spell of Daldorer's most likely.

We traveled back to Throal and then I went off with Charlie for some alone time.

William Carver
