Ubersuper

The Ubersuper is absolutely adorable. This bipedal, feathered saurian stands nearly three feet tall and can reach up to eleven feet in length - of which 60% is a stiff, feathered tail. The plumage is a soft, dappled brown with a striking emerald green under belly. It’s large head boasts large, alert eyes, further enhancing its appealing appearance. It’s name is a result of a British infantryman taking the piss out of a Prussian officer, who was trying to name it Übereidechse, meaning ‘Super lizard’ (not a great translation, but not everything is). The infantryman kept feigning difficulty in understanding what ‘über’ meant, until the officer started jumping up and down yelling “Über - super! Über - super!” The name stuck.

Its limbs betray its true nature, however. It has three fingers on its forelimbs, each tipped with razor-sharp claws. Its three-toed hind feet each boast an oversized, hooked claw on the inside toe capable of disemboweling a man in a single strike. Together with its crocodile-sized mouth, it is clearly a deadly predator simply based on its morphology.

What makes it truly terrifying, however, is its intelligence. It hunts in packs of 6 to 12 animals. They can communicate clearly with each other using pheromones, body position and vocalizations, some of which are not within the audible range of the human ear. They can plan and learn, and they are intelligent enough to operate human technology, even if the design of their hands limits their ability to operate it. Furthermore, they seem to relish the thrill of hunting interesting and dangerous prey, such as humans and saurids. It’s enough to make a Big Game Hunter take a long look in the mirror. There is at least one incident in which a pack of Ubersupers decapitated a number of victims and hung the heads in trees in imitation of a certain worthy’s trophy room.

Dr. Lethabo Mokoena
Human, Brassman, PR 8

Dr. Mokoena is relentlessly ambitious in a world that doesn’t necessarily appreciate that quality in black South Africans. He was refused entry to the University of Cape Town, except as a custodian and maintenance worker. Within a few years, however, he had unobtrusively audited enough classes to acquire a mastery of higher mathematics and theory of programming Analytical Engines. Soon he had reached the point where the demands of his paying job were interfering with his main purpose - learning as much as possible. He discovered a largely forgotten attic and created his first, well … there is no other way to say it. His first lair. He hacked most of the Engines on the campus, siphoning off computing power and data for his own purposes, as well as sufficient funds to finance his many interests. Eventually he was caught and convicted of various crimes that could have been avoided if he had simply been admitted to the University. He soon disappeared from the prison. The details of his escape are not known, but six months after the Rabbit Hole opened he was on one of the first few trains into the Gruv.

Now he has established a new lair in an extinct volcano in the Darlington Mountains far enough from the other settlements that he feels that he can pursue his studies without interference, despite the funding and supplies he still siphons off from more official efforts. The distance is certainly one factor, but he has also befriended a small tribe of Ubersupers that he has provided with clockwork prostheses that allows them to operate most human technology. They are his primary lab assistants. Eventually, Dr. Mokoena plans to reveal himself to everyone with some remarkable discovery or invention that will prove his worth. At the right time, he believes that the tens of thousands of pounds and unique scientific instruments he has commandeered for his own purposes will be forgiven.

Great article.

However, you lost a great opportunity to make them using illusions or other kind of mimicry to hunt and call them the Ubersuper Duper.

You could have made them adept in illusions and other forms of mimicry in their hunts and dubbed them the Ubersuper Duper, but you passed up a perfect chance to do so in amanda the adventurer

Combined with its large mouth akin to that of a crocodile, it's evident that the Ubersuper is a formidable predator incredibox based on its physical attributes alone.

The Ubersuper is clearly a powerful predator based on its physical characteristics alone, especially when combined with its enormous mouth that resembles a crocodile. only up
