Re: Stacking (ED4)
I'm just spitballing here, but what if extra successes on Threadweaving optionally counted towards extra successes on the Spellcasting? You'd still need to roll at least 1 success on your Spellcasting roll. Or, if you roll an extra success on your thread weaving, the thread weaving becomes a simple ...

1879 Kickstarter
Guys. There are like 10 days left and it's only short about 6 pledges. That's all.

Re: Stacking (ED4)
It seems like I read that one design principle the devs were working with was to make sure the combat disciplines were the best at dealing damage - so spellcasters don't completely overshadow the warriors at warrioring. However, if it is unsatisfying, you could write in a couple of artillery spells....

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
I'd be interested to see more about the corruption point system - having horror powers and blood magic have a chance of adding corruption points, perhaps.

Re: Praise for 4th edition Earthdawn
PR for a new company and product is a massive endeavor - my wife and I started a visual art teaching studio this year, so I can sympathize. We are doing a promotional event every month or so, and we are only working a local audience. (Plus ongoing Facebook marketing). When I've researched how to mak...

Re: Strength and armor based initiative penalties
That's more or less valid, but I think we should be looking at average strength, rather than minimum strength, for the smaller weapons.

Re: ED4 Chase scenes
I've never thought deeply about this, but for my purposes it would need to be a rule that I can fit in about 2 sentences, and then wing the rest of it. Generally I would let the dice decide the results of a chase, just like I would for a combat. Were I to house rule something on the fly, it would be...

Re: Strength and armor based initiative penalties
I've often thought (but never really tested) that the larger weapons (i.e., the ones with higher strength requirements) should have substantially higher damage output. Can't a broadsword basically cut someone in half? And it only does a few more damage points on average than a dagger?

I also count initiative penalties against movement tests, like swimming and climbing and moving across treacherous terrain.
