I would keep it. It's for hardened non-adepts and it would logically take a lot of time suffering Wounds to get the hang of it. Monastics are only a slice of the wuxia pie, after all. Family lineages and secular organizations would be where I'd expect more of that profession to occur. Either way, the medium powers would be reflections of expertise and training, rather than the Victorian British view of preternaturalism.

Magical roles that don't quite fit into mage or priest are going to take a bit of work to make fit. As might esoteric practices that resemble the mediums in some ways, but allow for more physical results, blurring the line between the imminent mystic warrior.

If you want samurai, particularly the variety romanticized in the Edo period and its post-hoc codification of Bushido that never actually existed, you should be playing 1879, not Earthdawn.
