Re: Zhan Shi
In this case it was more that I chose to approve him playing as a Zhan Shi - it was definitely his preference. Unfortunately, it's an online game, and it's kind of been on hold all month because my computer's in the shop. *sigh* And even when I get that back, at Play-by-Post speeds it may really be ...

Zhan Shi
I did a quick Search and it's not looking like we've talked much about them at all, so... I wanted to check with some more experienced GMs. I'm running an older-edition game (really, first-through-third. They were all pretty compatible until you guys went and did some deep thinking about hows and wh...

Re: What language do Therans speak?
I assume that the racial languages are magical in nature at their core. It's the only way I can accept that all orks speak a language in common that they all understand, even with their short life spans and hundred of years spent in kaers. Oooh. I love that idea. The idea of languages being...

Re: Earthdawn Companion?
Not when there's mythical Yamatai, the Yamato kingdom, Kami myths, the Uji clan structure etc not to mention all that good stuff you could pull out of the Kojiki & Nihongi. Add a big helping of Great Dragons and you've got a good start on an Earthdawn take on Japan. Beats samurai and feuding daimyo...

Re: An Elementalist Cavalryman
MY first thought was, but I think this character would be fun to play. ...And you're done. That's a pretty solid reason to play a character. But, OK, some further thoughts. First, I agree with Graymayne's basic point that, always in Multi-Disciplining, you have to think about how the two Disciplines...

Re: +1 CIAO
Have her Gahad trigger when she sees people abusing those weaker than them, particularly if the abuser has been entrusted with the victim's care. It should fit her with protective nature, and dovetails with her anger against people who disrespect their animals. I like that, but it feels like it's r...

Re: +1 CIAO
So, on a related note... I'm building an Ork Cavalryman, but she's not the typical Scorcher-type. She was an innkeeper's daughter. So, she's still an Ork, and always ready for a good tussle, but she doesn't have the full culture of violence that Ork PCs (and especially Ork Cavalryman PCs) tend to. S...

Re: +1 CIAO
First of all, I'd note the line that "Gahad is not intended to be a game mechanic giving orks a test bonus on every flimsy excuse." Obvious munchkining is obvious, and I think as GM, I'd just say - no, it doesn't work like that. She can still roleplay being determined to prove herself, but it's not ...

Re: Air Dance extra attack
Think I'd rule with Telarus. If the Air Dancing character hasn't used their movement yet, they could still do that, and if their movement rate is high enough to keep up with the target, they can still make the attack. They're gliding all around them like Lucio, after all, it should be hard to escape...
