Third Party Content
Ulisses, the german ED4 seller&translator accepts paid third party content.
50% of the turnover is for the Author
20% to drivethrou
15% to FASA
15% to Ulisses
Is this also a model that is imaginable for the english content?
Although being German, I prefer content in its original language if somehow possible...

Re: Third Party Content
A lot of companies are doing that, and I think it's a cool idea.
I do not, however, have any authority to make those kinds of decisions for Earthdawn.

Re: Third Party Content
White Wolf / Onyx Path seem to be doing well doing this, I think it's called Storyteller Vault. Also, don't D&D 5th do this too?
Re: Third Party Content
I presume regional descriptions are a little difficult as they might interfere too much with the existing RAW.
But individual adventures, artifact collections or creature lore, as well as a good smartphone app might be a valuable addition.

Re: Third Party Content
Shadow of the Demon Lord, W.O.I.N, Zweihander etc. etc. There are a lot of games companies making good with community content. Some are strictly, adventures only, others allow pretty much anything as long as its related to the game. I would love to see this for Earthdawn.

Re: Third Party Content
I have been mulling the idea of a handful of home-brewed magic items and spells for all 4 mages, fleshing them out and trying to sell them on Drivethrurpg or something similar.
Re: Third Party Content
As of right now, no selling.
If you want to post them up for free on a blog or website, that's fine.

Re: Third Party Content
No selling in english language - when you happen to be german, you can -as per now- sell it via the german distributor.

Re: Third Party Content
Ok, now i have to ask: WHY?
... I honestly can't see any reason to forbid others to create third party content for your IP and sell it as long as you get your share from it.
Although i can image that you cant justify that decision because of non-disclosure agreements
Please, give us at least a hint, why we are not allowed to support your IP.
Thx and best wishes!
Re: Third Party Content
Because that's the decision made by people higher up the chain than me. As for their reasons... *shrug*. I honestly don't know. I don't have to agree with the decision, but I need to uphold it.Gruber wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 8:54 am

For now, "getting our share" involves getting a license from FASA Corp. Which, you know, is possible.
