Further Information:
The first truly corrupted Kaer - Kaer Bamor. William and Xeviouz were returning to the Kaer, for others it was new. And it was terrible. The people of the Kaer had committed mass suicide. They wrote messages of despair in blood and with knife points. They exposed their children to danger and gave them up to the Horrors.
The Adepts found and defeated cadaver men, demiwraiths, ghouls, and scurriers. They found the partial name of a Horror: Ag'xgai Nl--th--vx---ir. They found books missing from the records of the Kaer - books involving year 37, 78, 112, 163, 204 of the Kaer's history. They encountered a Despairthought and chose the better part of valor, retreating to seal the Kaer until they could marshal the necessary strength to return.
This is the Scourge rendered real.
Follow-Up: There is still much to be done and great evil to be defeated. There are Horrors to be Stalked.
