Gorging Wasps [Creature]

Alright, since my Dispeller Beasts v.1 were a bust (they've been rebuilt by Panda), here is a first draft of something even worse. Keep in mind that the pre-playtest feedback on the Dispeller Beasts is that they were toooooo scaaaary and they turned out to be total cheese puffs.

Gorging Wasps are social insects with massive sexual dimorphism, exceeded only by the krillra and krillworms. The males appear to be large, red-bodied stinging wasps, each the size of a troll’s thumb. The shape and coloration on their heads resemble pale, yellowed skulls with fangs.
The females, or queens, have segmented and scaled bodies that can stretch 10 yards or more and over a foot in diameter. Their faces are wasp-like, and they have vestigial wings just behind their heads.
They typically make nests inside dead trees, which the males completely hollow out and fill with food stores and nurseries for their young. Like paper wasps, they can chew wood and mix it with their saliva to make a building material. The males eat small mammals and birds, or large insects, which they carry back to the nest. The queens live in burrows under the rest of the nest, with their tails pushed up in through the bottom of the nest, so that the eggs they lay can be moved to the appropriate place by the workers. The queens do not need to eat as often as the workers, but need much larger prey.
Batches are territorial, and often post guards high in the air, watching for larger animals that get too close to the nest. If it is simply a matter of driving away a potential threat, the males will swarm and sting. They have been known to pursue their victims up to a mile away from the nest.
If the female is hungry, the swarm of males will try to sting a number of targets until they collapse to the ground, then try to drive any of their companions away. The queen will then approach and begin eating her meals alive, by eating the flesh from under the skin and around the bones, usually starting at an extremity. She can eat up to a thousand pounds of flesh at a time, before returning to her nest to digest.
