ED1 Lore: My players stay out! Ender/Slimcreeper

So I am looking for what I think is legend lore from 1st ED.
Spoiler:
I thought at one time I read that Garlen had a different name/attitude pre-empire or early empire. Her symbol at the time was a spider? Not sure if I read it in an ED novel or I made it up myself.

I know about the butter spider from Parlanith adventures
