[Thread Item] Favu's Big Hammer

This is my idea for the warrior in my group. Not fleshed out yet, but the idea is to provide some ranged options to the warrior and battlefield mobility. These ranged attacks should be generally weaker than close combat, as well as weaker than the scout's bow, but perhaps still use his melee weapon talent.

Thoughts?

The Name of this hammer template is technically Master Favurous's Design Template for Favurous's Hammer of Elemental Air, Transportation, and Streamlined Thrashing, Ruination, and Interaction with Knaves, Enemies, and Rivals or HEATSTRIKER for Short, but the Weaponsmith to first craft one Named it Favu's Big Hammer. Most agreed with the decision, though Favurous stoutly denied that the acronym made no sense.

Does need fleshing out. How far are you envisioning the hammer can be thrown for damage, and how far the "throw hammer / transport" thing will work? Are we talking throwing axe ranges here or what?

Specifically writing out that you get to make a Thrown Weapon attack as a Melee Talent attack (which the description does not yet do) seems very ... powerful. Kind of sketchy. Once again, get the ranges nailed down. Make it cost some strain. Mention that it can only be done once per round, and that while it does use the Melee weapon Talent, it does not count as a close combat test for any other talents or abilities, nor is the hammer considered a melee weapon that round (these take second weapon, second attack, momentum attack, and probably a lot of other warriors favorite talents out of play. Probably ought to do some research as to just how limiting this is, but this should fulfill the goal of making it not as good as melee or archer attacks.)

teleport ability need to figure out range and strain. Is it a standard action rather than a movement action, etc.

Excellent point on the melee vs. thrown talents. I'll probably just do thread rank plus dexterity. Range on all things will likely be 20 yards. If the "teleport" does an effect, definitely a standard action. If not, maybe a move.

Strain, strain, everywhere strain! And probably lots for the transportation (like 3).

But, man, the general utility of that effect is pretty good, too.

I'd just create a weapon which gives +1, +2 and later on +3 to throwing weapon.
And the rest he can learn as skill.
Warriors are this extremely powerfull at close combat because they specialize in it.
If he wants to master anything besides it, he should just learn it as any other disciplin as well.
Or even go for a second disziplin if he wants close combat that badly.

He doesn't actually care. I tried to get ideas from him, but he just wanted to hit harder. That said, he liked the idea of something elemental related and also the idea of a range ability. So I threw this together.
