Is there anywork being done on these disciplines. I am starting up a new campaign and I have a few players who want to play boatmen.

They are working on a book (temporary name: Mystic Paths) that is supposed to be an ''Adept's Way'' that will include 4E adaptations for the extended Disciplines.

The release date is unsure however since the Elven Nations, the Iopos AND the 'arcane book' (that one that will, finally, includes the new spells and/or spell mechanics for higher circles mages) are set to be completed and released first. I would expect late 2019 or even 2020 unfortunately which is something that bothers me too. You can check this thread (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=939&start=40) for more details.

However, Panda from Panda Gaming Grove who is a Dev (or used to, I'm no really sure) has released adapted rules for those Disciplines on his website at: http://pandagaminggrove.blogspot.com/20 ... ne-03.html

Thank you for the info. I did see that blog post as well. I am not all that happy with that. For me air sailors are far to tame to be boatmen. I like how much of a troll is in Sky Raider. I was hoping to do the same for boatman but with T'Skrang influences.

You could just take the Boatman from 3ED, import the Pilot Boat Talent (while cross-referencing the Pilot Boat SKILL from 4ED) and adapt whatever few talents that might be different from 3ED. This is what I had done for my Windscout.

"Tame" how? What do you think is missing?

Weirdly, I’ve always half expected them to have something like the Entertainer talent.

When I think of T'Skrang I always think of that one quote ,please forgive me I do not remember where, from a dwarf that All T'Skrang were born Troubadours. And that the T'skrang that heard it instead of thinking it an insult thought it was a high complement and then decided to sit with the dwarves and continue his party at their table.

So I always envisioned the difference between the two is that the Boatman has much a much more party atmosphere that it is not just about what you do but how you do it that is important. Remember the first entertainment boats on the Serpent was just T'Skrangs being T'Skrangs.

they made a system of pirating with out pirating that takes social talent and I always thought that they would incorperate a lot of Troubidor talents as well.

Her are my thoughts. Please take them for what they are worth. I always figured they would have the talents hearting laugh, blade juggle, emotion song, mesmerizing voice, Read/Write language.

I am not big on the taunting or or the second weapon or the surprise strike.
