All ok.
Plus, those three abilities incresement only work when you interact with that True Pattern which Major pattern item you have.

You also can't change the abilities affected by the thread when you increase it.

If you choose Physical Defense, Mystic Defense, and Durability when you first weave the thread (at rank 1), those same abilities are affected when you increase the thread to rank 2.

(At least, as written. I've never encountered a house rule that allows you to change, doesn't mean somebody hasn't done it.)

Presumably the Unweaving Knacks would allow you to choose a new ability if you rewove the Threads.

It gets confusing because the words "Thread" and "rank" are used so often
Also "Pattern."

I've started referring to Pattern Items as Talismans to help teach new players.

Yeah, because at that point it's a "new" thread.

Doug, that's a great idea. There are a lot of things here with subtly different names and the terminology is confusing.

Thanks.
I've been playing this game since ED1. I know what this stuff is, and I still get confused reading the rules on it.

I'm reminded of the Order of the Stick comic where they pointed out all the uses of the word "Level" in D&D.
