Is this a "+Rank bonus" like original form (First Ring of Perfection) or has it been converted to the more common ED4 variant of "+X bonus per success"? If the latter, what's the difficulty for the test?
On one hand, I like this variant, it does help reduce number creep. On the other hand, it also feels like it further penalizes magicians given they often have anywhere from 3 to 6 more Mystic Defense in comparison to their allies (MD being the common Difficulty for these) and lowering mystic defense isn't a thing anymore.
