Hey, I'm thinking of adding a Bennie, name to be changed, system. Basically it would replace the role-playing LP/AP bonus. Instead the LP/AP rewards would generally be higher. And this stuff:
In the middle of the table is a dish with one gem per player. If another player does something especially entertaining or in character, a player can give the player a Bennie, name to be changed. The Bennies, name to be changed, can be spent to improve a roll. When spent, the player chooses dice they would be rolling and instead of rolling it, place it on the table, highest value up. The dice is not rerolled in this case. A d20 is a 20. It's actually the only way you can get a result of 20 on a d20. Once spent, the Bennie, name to be changed, is removed from the game. If a player has previously been rewarded with a Bennie the player can pass it to another player for doing something entertaining.
At the end of the game session, all unspent Bennies are lost; you can't save them.
Obviously the verbiage is garbage; I'm just thinking this out as a rough draft.
Bennies, name to be changed.

I assume this is just a joke at the d20's expense.Slimcreeper wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:43 amIt's actually the only way you can get a result of 20 on a d20.

Well, since dies exploded in Earthdawn, it IS impossible to roll a 20 on a D20.etherial wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:51 amI assume this is just a joke at the d20's expense.Slimcreeper wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:43 amIt's actually the only way you can get a result of 20 on a d20.

It is both a small joke and the truth.

I really like that mechanic in games where players are at odds. In games where the players are meant to cooperate it's asking for self-regulation which is... difficult at best.

That's true, something to keep an eye on. There would have to be an understanding that they can't discuss who or when to give out the Bennies.
