How does Nightflyer's Cloak interact with damage taken while in animal form?
Re: Nightflyer's Cloak
It's unclear but there was a discussion about that here: http://fasagames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1458
The beginning is just about which creatures are 'nightflyers' but it goes on about the damage mechanic later in the thread.

If you are take any damage you have a crick in your neck or a nasty cuticle for 24 hours.

Re: Nightflyer's Cloak
i will say however you resolve it, don't give them an entirely full health bar every time they assume a new form. healing is a precious and finite resource in earthdawn, and there's not really a major limit on how often you can use the spell, so one way or the other it pretty much needs to cause some sort of permanent problem for the adept or else nethermancers just get to the point where they take over for as long as there are flying nocturnal creatures that remain relevant.
(and shamans even more so).
(edit: permanent problem in the sense it doesn't just go away on it's own the moment the spell ends, not permanent in the sense that it can't be undone).

Re: Nightflyer's Cloak
Far too many rules are very ambiguous, and far too often basic issues are not addressed at all in the rule texts. It is starting to annoy me.
Thanks for your input.

Re: Nightflyer's Cloak
The rules in Earthdawn are quite simple: If not stated different anywhere, just keep it as it is! (In fact this should become a rule in the corebook byitself )
So just use the health and armor of your character for the nightflyer.

Greetings,
Current damage doesn't change and use the adept's health ratings. The idea changing form heals is a D&Dism.

now imagine that bat is actually a multi-discipline nethermancer (or shaman)/beastmaster, with the claw shape talent boosting the damage of its attacks

That is the best kind of terrifying.
