I just don’t understand all about how poison work. What the numbers mean for interval?
Ex: Paralytic poison, Step 10, onset 3 rounds, interval 4/2, duration 30 mins.
What interval 4/2 means? 4 test, step 10 for 2 round, after 3 rounds?
Question about poison
Re: Question about poison
Poisons are now intended to work over time, with multiple tests. "Interval" refers to how many tests you make, and how often. It consists of two values: a number, and a time.
"Interval 4/2" doesn't mean anything. It would be presented as (for example) "4/2 rounds". This means that over the course of the poison, you make 4 tests total, with 2 rounds between each test.
A smaller time interval means the poison works faster. A poison with interval "4/5 minutes" still makes 4 tests, but there are five minutes between each test -- meaning there is a lot more opportunity for healing or other factors to come into play.
All of this is covered in the GM Guide, starting on page 171.
