Brief Backstory:
Malonin "Mal" Tyrnith's father Geran was a somewhat famous Scout in this part of Throal. During one of the first few expeditions outside the walls, his party never returned leaving his wife Enise and their 2 children Mal and Rey to fend for themselves. The Tyrinth family was never very good with finances and Enise was soon working multiple jobs to keep food on the table and a place to sleep. The strain on her was too much and she soon fell ill and was unable to afford healing. Mal and his younger sister Reyonin had to both tend to their mother and support themselves. Enise lived only a few short weeks leaving the children on their own.
A friendly Weaponsmith named Berk Broadlin took pity on Mal giving him odd jobs and teaching him a bit of weapon crafting. After several months, Mal was able to craft himself a bow and arrows which enabled him to better provide for himself and his sister. His father had taught him the basics of archery and Mal took to it with a resolve to become a great archer so they would never be hungry again. His talents soon manifested and Berk was so impressed by Mal's abilities that he mentioned him to an Archer acquaintance. The Archer, J'Kassah, took Mal and his sister in and began training him. The gates of Throal have been opened for over 2 years now and Mal has earned enough money for a decent set of gear. He has progressed in his training as much as he can without practical experience and he bids his trainer and sister goodbye as he leaves to experience the great wide world of Barsaive.
