Brief Backstory:
Hawza was part of a small mercenary band of light cavalry that was recently hired to operate out of Sosanopa to deal with the recent increase in banditry by people bearing the mark of a ram's head. Their most recent assignment was to attack a bandit group that had been preying on merchants passing through the area, when they were ambushed by a number of monstrous creatures that scattered his band to the winds, most of whom he has not seen since. With no sign of the rest of the band, and having lost his mount, he headed off to Throal in search of new work and allies that can help him avenge his fallen comrades.

Hawza the Swift, Slow to Forget

The following is a recollection from Vralino Hammer-Shield, a 15 year old Ork girl with limited exposure to society. The text remains unaltered to maintain its authenticity (Certain terms and names written wrong to keep in character). It is written in Or'zet and in an expensive blue ink, as opposed to her usual charcoal writings, assumed to make it more permanent, less prone to smudging, and give it a degree of importance above the rest of her journal.

Well, it took a few days to put together, but Hawza's memorial went well. I didn't even know I had been spelling his name wrong this whole time. It was really embarrassing because I spent so much effort posting flyers all over Throal. Luckily, the people who knew him knew who I meant. Thorkell, Therbis, and Oria were there. We had gone to Clear Creek Crossing together not too long ago. Mazor and Elizen were there, too. I didn't recognize anyone else from the adept Disciplines that I knew. When Hawza's family arrived, Mazor passed on Hawza's gear and bat. I hope they take good care of that bat.

Once everyone had arrived, we started the service. I don't know much about memorial services, so I may have gotten this wrong. Therbis began telling stories about Hawza's exploits. There weren't really all that many, so he had the time to tell them elegantly, so elegant you'd'a thought we were celebrating Hawza's death. After Therbis finished, Mazor spoke on his bravery as he fell to the ghouls and succumbed to their venom. The emotions from the moment when I realized he was no longer alive returned and made me cry a little. It still bothers me knowing that this was the last time I would ever have the opportunity to see him.

Then Thorkell and Oria put up a display for his family, which they were allowed to keep. It was a beautiful little statue made of metal and decorated with a floral arrangement, although it was not very big. Maybe the size of Thorkell's forearm. As the memorial came to a close, those who came approached the statue, as if it were Hawza's body, to pay their final respects and offer sympathy to his family.

Seeing so many people disturbed by Hawza's death forged my own desire to return outside of Throal. Thorkell is heading to Clear Creek in a couple weeks. I should go with him. It should be fairly relaxing. A little bit of relaxation outside of Throal would be a great way to shake off Hawza's death.
