Rumor: The military patrols that have gone out have reported that the road that used to lead west is no longer visible in most places.
Two dwarf surveyors have been engaged to find and mark the original route, and make sure the first 50 mile markers are in place.
They require an escort for protection and assistance. Two weeks rations are provided.

As mentioned in the top post, one purpose of this game is to test to see if people prefer the "Earthdawn by FASA" roll20 character sheet to the sheet we used previously. Going forward we might use the new sheets, or return to the old depending upon feedback.

We will not be messing up the existing roll20 campaign space by temporarily changing the sheets. Thus for this game we will be using a temporary campaign space. Those who sign up for this campaign (and anybody else interested in the new sheets), please join the following campaign.

You should find a character with your name on it that you can edit.
The character sheet has a wiki guide, that you can look at if you need to, but in general, enter your name and the character name at the top, then on the core tab enter the character race and discipline. Then adjust the AP column (it is green) until your attributes are correct.

The one very important part that is not obvious, is that the character MUST be LINKED.
Now is probably a good time to link your Token. This is very important. At the top of your character sheet, there is an 'edit' button. This button allows you to set your Avatar picture. Find a picture (probably from the Internet) you want for your token and upload it as your Avatar. Your chosen picture should now appear next to your character name in the character journal. Use your mouse to drag from your character name to the VTT. A token should appear on the VTT. If it does not, it is probably because you tried to drag the portrait picture to the VTT instead of the name. Select this token. On your character sheet go to the 'Adjust' tab. If the 'Advanced' section is not shown, un-hide it. Make sure that the 'PC?' drop down says it is a PC. Make sure the 'Special Function' says 'Link Token'. Make sure your token is still selected on the VTT and push the 'Do SF' button. You should get text saying the token has been linked. You can delete the token in the VTT now if you want. From now on whenever you drag a token from the Journal to the VTT, the new token will be correctly linked to your character (the token and your character sheet will share damage, wounds, karma, Etc). For some actions and Talents to work correctly you need to have a token selected. For example rolling Initiative requires having a validly linked token selected. Some people want a portrait picture for the character journal, but a top down view for the token. To do this, load your token picture in as the Avatar, then link the token, then change the Avatar picture to your portrait picture.

To finish your character sheet, put your armor and weapons on the equipment tab, and your talents and skills on those tabs.

The time has come. We have an opportunity to leave Throal!
A group was assembled, consisting of A'lari, a T'Skrang Swordmaster, Ceadda, a human warrior, Jael, an Elf Beastmaster, Shel, an Orc Thief, and myself, which is Karl Tomsson, a human Archer. We were accompanied by Jorank and Mumin, the two dwarfen surveyors. Of course I also brought Rusty along.

At the gate we were met by some official clerk who warned us about showing our artisanskills when coming back. We of course had heard about the crazy stuff happening at the gates, how people who left the safety of our city for less than an hour came back horrormarked, and were unable to show their artisan skills.

Leaving the city offered us the most astonishing view of my entire life: We were greeted by a blue, endless sky. This held only for a short time, because our first night was without clouds. I heard stories of the stars before, but I had never guessed the amount of lights a dark sky can show. Thanks to Rusty I still noticed an approaching animal, that was unfortunately spooked and ran off when I woke the others. No chance at hunting wildlife.
The second day it was raining nonstop. I found good shelter, and we also had a tent within our group. The dwarves just lay below the cart. While I was slightly alerted by what turned out to be a very loud school of frogs, a lion sneaked up on our camp and mauled our horse. Luckily I had woken up the group and we could deal with the lion swiftly, my arrow striking down the fleeing lion. I wanted to let Rusty have his reward, but Jael wanted to try taming it. Unfortunately he failed and the lion got away.

While we gave the horse a day's rest, we went a ahead and prepared the dwarves' markings. We found a small cliff, only some inches high, with all the land west of it being sunk in. We were also unable to find the street, although it should have continued straight forward. It just ended right where the mini cliff was. After some searching we found that the street indeed continued straight forward, but was buried under "fresh" soil about 30 yeards south. As if the earth was shifted along the cliff.
On this day we also saw some kind of beast in a draconic form. We don't surely know, how big or how far away the beast was, as it did not descend to give us a perspective via landmarks. After some minutes it was not visible anymore. We stood down to not make it aware of us.

The further travel was mostly uneventful for the next days, until we came upon a small earth hill right where the next mile marker should have been. When Ceadda started the climb, a large group of more than a dozen Termites, as big as cats, erupted from many holes. Near the end of the fight we noticed that only some of them actually attacked us, the other half simply walked up to our horsecart and tried to take some rations. We did not stay to find out if we could have befrienden the Termites in exchange for food, and instead burned the burrow down and killed the queen.
Rusty and Jael's goat Hedbut were very valuable companions in the fight against these Termites, both taking out Termites on their own.
It should also be noted that this species of Termites can spit some kind of poison that blinded Ceadda.

The way back to Throal was mostly uneventful, except for some very interesting animal tracks, or noises during the night. It should be noted that in the future we bring better clothes to protect us against the rain, or the absence of rain. Apparently our skin is not made for or used to being out in the sun all day. This reddens the skin and burns badly.
