~From the journal of Aerick Privista~

Today was my first real adventure outside of the city, and I must say... This whole adventuring business may not be as glorious as I first envisioned. But that is not to say that I have been dissuaded from my new path in life! I still yearn to see the world and all the wonders held within it. Let's just hope my next adventure involves slightly less feces.

Allow me to backtrack a bit. I set out with three new friends, and it did not take long for our first scuffle to break out. In the evening we were attacked by a group of bog gobs wearing a strange uniform. It was a messy fight, and their viscous bodies made it difficult to make full use of my abilities, but we prevailed in the end. The next morning, we came across a town and found yet another strange scene: More uniformed bog gobs, but in reds instead of blues! After meeting with an... interesting fellow in the local tavern, he informed us of a mounting war between two bog gob factions. The ones in red were of a slightly more peacable nature, and after their request to assist them in a coming battle, we decided to give our aid.

The battle was fierce, but the odds were in our favor. However, during the confrontation, a splinter group of blue bog gobs made away with the reds' sacred ball of feces. Yes, you read that right, and no, I do not have the strength in me to describe the details. Suffice it to say, retrieving this ball was of the utmost importance.

We followed the thieves into a nearby cave system, fending off local wildlife all the way. In the final chamber we discovered our quarry. Unfortunately, the vigors of battle had worn us down, and my new friend Hurricane very nearly died after suffering a particularly vicious blow. (Luckily I was nearby to lend my aid and help her regain her senses. I can't imagine what it would feel like to lose a companion on my very first adventure!) But victory smiled upon us in the end, and we safely retrieved our "prize."

Now a new order of bog gob rule supreme in the local bog gob society, and hopefully things will be more peaceful, for a time at least. Their leader, Bog Antony, paid us a modest sum for our services, and that was how my first adventure came to a close.

boredom yields travel
bog gobs attack in the night
eyes glow with sunset

gobs made of thick mud
sticking to blades and bodies
cannot stand our strength

goat chews the dirt road
borgans rest welcomes party
bog gob civil war

blue overthrows red
red seeks mighty assistance
adepts hold noses

gopolis besieged
we breach the mud and stone walls
attacked from behind

squad steals the feces
bog leader demands return
poop sacred to gobs

we fight in tunnel
krilworm ambush threatens none
the "prize" still ahead

our four and their four
fighting for a ball of poop
glory, in the dark
