I realize this first post is a little light, but it lays out where I started from when it came to developing these new rules.

The whole new take on Devotion sounds both intriguing and exciting.

Really love the way you modeled Devotions on Versatility. Looking forward to seeing more.

I'm really happy with the outlines you've outlined here regarding the outlines of the book. I think everything is going to line up nicely!

Here's this week's preview, looking at the significantly refurbished Devotion Point system.

Hi Josh,
My only concern would be that you now have this elaborate system in place for what should be a secondary aspect to a character. Being a questor is something a character does *in addition* to their discipline.
Thanks!
Lou
This looks pretty cool. I admit I was skeptical based on the first preview, but this one really helps clarify how things will work.Mataxes wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 1:04 pmHere's this week's preview, looking at the significantly refurbished Devotion Point system.

Hi,
your previews to the questor book are great and have some inventive ideas how to manage questors and make them usable for players.
By the way,is it possible to get some kind of "talent crisis" ?
If the character ignores the wish of his passion permanently.
(getting no devotion points is a disadvantage but no real harm to a character)
Or how can a character get rid of his passion?
Sounds crazy, but I have a character who follows for a long time the path of a mad passion and now he want to leave her.
(I guess mad passions don't want to let their questors easly go away)
Regards

Sure, but those aren't the only questors in Barsaive (the majority of questors aren't adepts, after all).My only concern would be that you now have this elaborate system in place for what should be a secondary aspect to a character. One of my goals when approaching the new rules was to see if it was possible to make questors a little more viable as a stand-alone thing--which the original rules didn't do (nor, to be fair, were they intended to). This works for a group that wants to push the envelope with a non-standard campaign, as well as making questors more viable as allies and opposition without also needing to make them adepts.
It is a little bit more involved than it used to be, but that's intentional.
