Hm, I unterstood Spliced Weave different: Yes, it allows you to make multiple Thread Weaving tests in one round, but Thread Weaving is still a Standard Action. Meaning you can't use Spellcasting in the same round.

Weaving a spell thread with the Thread Weaving talent is a Standard Action.

Weaving a thread with the Spliced Weave talent changes that to a Simple Action.

The intent is for a magician to finally be able to weave and cast in the same combat round. That's why it's the pinnacle Discipline talent for magicians. It's a big deal.

The rule is written the way it is because the magician still uses their Thread Weaving Step to make the tests, rather than having a new talent they need to raise in order to be effective at actually weaving the threads.

Players Guide p. 294 Griffin:
Movement: 18 (Flying 18)
I guess the movement speed at land should be less than flying?

Earth Q'wril has "10 (Burrow 10)". The point isn't that they need be different numbers, only to highlight that the creature can move in a different way. Most animals can walk, so that's the baseline number. Flight, burrowing, etc., are unusual forms of movement.

18 is pretty high, though. War horse gets 16 while riding horse gets 20. Griffin is clearly better than a war horse in every way. Costs more, too, though.

Yeah, I know. But it is by far different than it was before.
In older versions the flying speed of a griffin was double the movement speed.
And if you take a jungle griffin 4th edition for comparison, it has Movement: 14 (Flying 20) and has more or less the same statue.

I think 14 is already a benevolent value for a magical creature whose default mode of movement is flying.

Brings me to the idea to finish the Windling Cavalryman on his Ostrich.

Finally a bird that runs fast.

Errata of errata:

Don't know if anyone reported this but the current (31 March 2019) errata about the 'Vital Strike' Talent (Companion) states that the Talent/Erratum is at page 78 while it is actually at page 71.

ALSO: Again in the 'Companion' section, the erratum concerning 'aquatic' for the Kharefia states that this creature is at page 290 while it is actually at page 288-289.

ALSO: Again in the 'Companion' section, the erratum concerning the 'aquatic' for the 'Spider, Kaer' states that this creature is at page 293 while it is actually at page 311-312.

What's the difference between the two players' guide pdfs on drivethru?

Are the core rule books (pdfs and hardcopies) going to have the errata updated in future?

What two Player's Guides? There is only one Fourth Edition Player's Guide on DriveThru.

There are Player's Guides for Third Edition and "Classic" (though that one is called the Player's Compendium) -- but those are different editions of the game, and not fully compatible with each other.

Some errata will be incorporated into the books, but the priority has been to try and get books completed and out the door. The GM Guide is almost out of stock and will be going to reprint, so we're going to get errata updated for that one first. When it's ready we'll update the PDF.

(One of the issues we're facing is we lost our regular layout person, and haven't had much luck finding a new one. It's bottlenecking a whole bunch of stuff while we try out new people.)
