Re: Disbelieving damaging illusions
I'm talking about the part where a target can freely decide that a spell being cast is an illusion or not, even before the actual spell even being cast, and by doing so totally ignoring any of its effect, no roll needed whatsoever. So the poor Illusionist that just tried casting Phantom Flame just ...

Re: Social System
Bravo. Understanding the Favors system is really key to letting social-based adepts shine. Yeah, you won that interaction test, but you still owe Queen Alacia a favor, and she will collect. That hooks to further adventures.

Re: Space and Time (Mostly Space)
I'm using 20 yard hexes for large scale mass combat experiments. Easy to convert yds to hex, knock off the last digit and halve it.

Re: Fourth Edition Errata, Clarifications, and FAQs
I'm pretty sure the Spliced Weave talent (ED4 Companion, 15th Circle Talent for all spellcasters) allows this. It is a Simple action that allows you to take X strain to roll X threadweaving tests. (Cannot be used in the same round as Concise Casting.)

Re: economics
Adept B'jados (Caravan Heros) make 200 Silver per Circle per Month. (Throal the Dwarf Kingdom, p. 40) This has always been my baseline for setting up these kind of economic numbers. 4E PG also notes that Forging Armor or Weapons costs 50 Silver * Rank for each attempt. This takes a week of 8 hour wo...

Re: combat tactics
Yeah, that's exactly the thing I was trying to avoid. If you want to "push past" the defender, hit them with an Attack to Knockdown action (which probably uses the attacker's Standard Action). _Then_ you get a free shot at the target while the defender pulls themselves to their feet. But you only ha...

Re: combat tactics
I really like the addition of the Success mechanic. If you are going to bring in talent/skill ranks, it may be worth targeting the incoming attacker's Physical Defense with the Talent/Skill (this is how Acrobatic Defense & Maneuver work). Hmmmm... so you might be able spend successes from those type...

Re: combat tactics
Oh yeah, reserved and delayed actions are really important in this situation, especially if they have to take more than 1 round to close. Also, both parties are looking to Knockdown the other. The defender wants to pin the attacker so he can't reach the target, and if the attacker knocks the defende...
