Re: Concise Casting only w/ Spellcasting?
I think there's been a tweak to the text since the early release I sent out. Not at a handy place to check, though (removing the "no threads" requirement, IIRC) The intention is to allow a second spell to be cast the same round, not to allow casting the same round the last thread is woven. Additiona...

Re: Magic Items
Giving an overview of its powers at Rank 1 would be fine. (e.g., "This sword's damage increases, and it allows the wielder to attack more quickly" for one that provides Initiative and Damage bonuses.) But the specifics of what come at each rank are still, I think, best left for discovery as the game...

Re: Magic Items
Let me add an addendum to my prior post. Part of my... surprise... is that in over 20 years of playing the game and talking with a wide variety of people who have played the game, I haven't ever encountered the "skip empty ranks" interpretation. This is as after significant involvement in the online...

Re: Magic Items
While I can (sort of) understand the confusion with the sometimes broad use of the term "Key Knowledge," in this case each rank of an item is a Key Knowledge. Even if there isn't a specific Test Knowledge and Research Knowledge for that rank. Deeds : Successfully learning the first Key Knowledge pro...

Re: New Novice/journeyman spells?
Because there's only one Companion. It contains player and GM info.
Like the original rulebook.

Re: New Novice/journeyman spells?
We're hoping (fingers crossed) that the Companion will be out in time for GenCon, which is at the end of August. This would mean going to the printer in June... It's doable. Discipline progressions and talents are done (barring tweaks and minor changes). Knacks are in good shape, airships chapter is...

Re: Magic Items
Ah, I need to go back and re-read the Talent. I couldn't remember if Item History Rank unlocked (a) up to Thread Item Rank or (b) up to Key Knowledge number. Example with Item History 4: (a) Can determine Key Knowledges up to Rank 4, so the ones at 1 and 3. (b) Can determine the first 4 Key Knowled...

Re: Magic Items
Unfortunately, my recollection without the rulebook is starting to blur, and a lot depends on how you actually play at the table. Others would really need to chime in here and correct my sudden stupidity. You're close, but to clarify: In your example, a character with Rank 2 Item History would lear...
