Re: Wyvern: Animal?
I always got from the hints that they are a magical creature related to dragons (wyvern skins and stinger venom being magical ingredients for certain things), _and_ that <spoilers> adolescent dragons spend time looking like & flying around with wyvern flocks</spoilers>.

Re: Spoiler question (My players stay out of this thread!)
Oh, back when I ran some of the 1e stuff and had the Shadowrun references, I thought the Rose Crystal and the Everliving Flower were duplicates of each other, but that isn't actually referenced.

Re: Spoiler question (My players stay out of this thread!)
I'm going to hint at a huge setting spoiler, so forgive me for not providing more. There are 2 magical 'everliving' roses, and they are at the heart of one of the grudges between the Blood Wood and Thera - with ties going back to the 2nd Age Dragon politics... they pop up again in Barsaive at War (2...

Re: Training skills?
It really depends on how you want to position Adepts socially in all the societies. If non-Adepts can learn Skills from an Adept who has the Talent, then Adepts are often found leading/teaching bands of non-adepts. Warrior-bands, Garlen-cults, etc, etc will have well-trained non-Adept members. Other...

Re: Disappointment with the Nethermancer
The Earthdawn Guild on Facebook would be a great place to crowdsource that.

Re: Disappointment with the Nethermancer
I definitely had to use the Favors system (& all the other social mechanics), along with making spirits strange and weird, to make it a viable part of the discipline. Relationships should be cultivated, and more powerful Named spirits can promise services from their underlings as a Favor. Also, in m...

Re: Airship Altitude
I don't mean to be a tease, but we do have most of this sketched out... needing a final mechanics and edit cut pass. Ships can become Derelict by damage or by falling under a certain # of 'able crew' (with officers/high circle characters counting double, and anyone without the required rank counting...

Re: Thread Items for sale?
Christie’s auction house of Travar? This is how it works in my Barsaive. You may be able to find some Forged weapons and maybe a (very low rank) Thread Item in the GRand Bazaar or the great cities' marketplaces. But other than that, you have to deal with wealthy merchant-guild politics, kingdom pol...

Re: Astral Sight: What does it see?
Agreed. Each "detail" requires a successful check over multiple rounds, and some information in-detail is gated behind certain powers. Which means setting up a target for extended surveillance is a thing.

Re: Question: Thread Weaving and Spellcasting
Generally, the threadweaving portion is pretty subtle already, with the big crazy gestures being part of the Spellcasting test (there's not huge amount in the rpg books to back this up, but there are some good scenes in the novels). The knack allows you to set on average you DEX+6 (min rank 6) as a ...
