Re: Sharper
I think Conceal Object is fine in Novice Tier, in fact, Surprise Strike will see little use without it. So I would absolutely keep it there. Quickblade is however too strong, no matter if you add smaller restrictions like no ini penalty or not. I think a good alternative could be this: If the oppone...

Re: Sharper
Agreed, completely overlooked that one.
I would say that even 2 strain per point of ini might be too powerful.

Re: Sharper
I would not introduce any new talents as just talents options. That makes little sense as the only reason to have them is if they are essential to the Discipline you are designing. Contortionist should just be a high-ranking Knack for Acrobatics, it's too niche to take up talent slots and too themat...

Re: Question about Additional Target
If you roll against the SD of the target who has the matrix -> additional target is another namegiver
If you roll against the SD of the Matrix -> another matrix can be targeted
Target is defined by what you roll against.
Regardless:
Either way, the spell is fine and I would allow it to do both.

Yeah, that's the point where things get silly and people complaining that stacking bonuses like that is an issue are causing the problem themselves...

Re: Replacement Talent for Haggle
so, as I understand it, the line about haggle stopping when either person fails means that *that* person cannot keep trying. if you keep on succeeding, you can keep on racking up successes. I can certainly agree that it isn't clear, however. That's how I understood it but didn't have my book handy ...

Re: Replacement Talent for Haggle
I take it back then, apparently read it wrong.
Still, the talents fits thematically, even if it is flawed

Re: Replacement Talent for Haggle
I have two primary complaints. A strict, literal reading of the RAW (4th Edition) is broken as it only gives you a +/-5% change in price, max. That is per test, and you get Rank x tests per negotiation. Haggling is a competition, you can roll multiple times (so can the merchant) and the total succe...

Re: Replacement Talent for Haggle
For Weaponsmith I get it since the discipline has something inherently commercial about it. However, I don't feel that it fits the Thief unless you play the "steal everything and try to fence it" kind. We don't use all talents to advance, never have and I have never had issues with, to be honest. Th...

Re: Haggle on Advancement fee.
That depends, some potential trainers might feel straight up disrespected.
Trainers for disciplines that have haggle as a discipline talent will probably see it as a show of competence.
