Re: Rules Question: Optional talents and legend point cost
So the same Talent learned by the same character costs more if he chooses to learn it later? Perhaps a more pertinent question is why would a single talent be listed more than once? This make no sense to me. As Oracle said, it isn't actually listed twice, and in most cases the scenario being laid o...

Re: Rules Question: Optional talents and legend point cost
Hello, Etherial has it right. The cost of a talent (for Disciplines) is based on what Circle it is learned at. If an Archer decides to pick up Wilderness Survival (Novice talent option) as his Circle 4 optional talent, it costs 100 Legend for Rank 1, 200 for rank 2, etc. (Novice costs per the chart ...

Can links please open new browsers/browser tabs?
Hello,
Would it be possible to configure the forums so that clicking on a link in a post defaults to opening a new browser or new browser tab?
Thanks!
Lou Prosperi

Re: Lore Question from Dragons
Spoilers ahead (Dragonkin, Immortal Elves etc.) There is elaborate fan theory about how banishment and discovering Book of Harrows was a plot conveyed by those Immortal Elves who wanted to create something that equals the power of Great Dragons (Theran Empire). Or maybe - just maybe mind you - the ...

Re: Earthdawn Media Inspirations
Hello,
As I posted on Twitter (where Josh posted this question), I think the Reavers from Firefly are a great depiction of extreme Horror Taint.
Take Care,
Lou Prosperi

Re: A New Book of Dragons
Hello, ...but I don't know if that would be considered a spoiler. We revealed the secret in the ED4 GM Guide, with the caveat that few in Barsaive know the truth. In that case... Our working title for the Iopos book was "Pawns of the Dragon" and would have look at not just Iopos and the Denairastas,...

Re: A New Book of Dragons
Hello, For what it's worth, one of the books we were planning for 1999 (!) for ED1 was a book about Iopos. I'd share the working title, but I don't know if that would be considered a spoiler. It's been a LONG time, but there are still lots of new ED fans who may not have read everything we published...

Re: Magic Items
Hello, Hello, For what it's worth (and that's probably not that much), I would lean towards the "skipping ranks" interpretation. This is based primarily on the specific use of the term "Key Knowledges". That said, I don't think either approach is "bad" or "wrong", and neither is likely to cause any ...

Re: Spell design
Hello, Just to provide a little historical context, the ED1 Spell Design system was created by reverse-engineering the existing spells in the ED1 core rulebook and Companion. The goal of the spell design system was to provide a system that players and GMs could use to create new spells that approxim...
