Re: Blood Elf Children
The Earthdawn Novel 7 states that the children of blood elves can develop thorns after a few months after birth and in rare cases die from them.
However, if the thorns do not appear, the babies are subjected to the ritual of thorns, which can also be fatal.

It can also be derived of this rule:
But yes, you're right: a clean Rule doesn't exist and a negative Defense could still be interesting for the success levels.
And of course the Rule of One.p. 33 of the players guide wrote:Regardless of modifiers, the minimum result on any test is 1.

Re: Spot Armor Flaw Target
Hello, all. According to the rules, Spot Armor Flaw rolls "against the higher of the target’s or his armor’s Mystic Defense." In the case of a Namegiver opponent, does this mean I compare it's Perception-based Mystic Defense against the MD of the armor alone rather than their modified total defense...

Re: Entertainer Talent for Troubadour
You can still use the optional rule from the companion on page 435: The purpose of Free Talents is to provide characters of certain Disciplines with tools and abilities they are expected to have that may not directly influence play very often. These talents should increase as the character advances ...
