Re: Starting Animal Companions and Mounts
Circle 1 / 2 creatures is the right way to go. In the old Adepts path book, there were even examples for mounts to give. I allowed my beastmaster player to have an animal companion. It was "just" a hawk, but still useful in many ways and a dear friend to him. Even so the biggest difference between a...

Re: Multiple disciplines and karma rituals
I recall reading somewhere, that you somehow "merge" the two karma rituals. Or to be more correct: You must not merge the existing one with the new one, but you also can invent a completely new one fitting both / all disciplines. Companion p. 21: "At Thirteenth Circle, an adept’s Karma Die increases...

Re: Wizzard C6 Spell Discplace Self
In my Ed4 PG page 356. "This includes attacks which Avoid Blow would normally be denied, such as Blindside or Surprise attacks, but does not include those which Avoid Blow is never allowed, such as against most spells." Oh, guess my version of the pdf isn't the final one (even so it was called FINA...

4. The spell description says you can: "This includes physical attacks which Avoid Blow may not normally affect, such as spells that deal physical damage."

Re: Illusion "complex images"
The most important rule about illusions is the following: They are perceived as real as long as they are not seen through. You can't override physical laws like gravity, but an illusionary rock that falls on you is perceived as a real celebration and therefore does real damage (unless you see throug...

Re: Wizzard C6 Spell Discplace Self
Hi, You can dodge while blindsided. You can dodge while being ambushed. You can dodge while being blind / in the dark. You can use avoid blow against spells which deal physical damage (not all characters have the talent Steel Thought). It needs no threads, so it is casted fast. And I really often he...

Re: Illusion "complex images"
and further the damage would be temporary. The GM would keep track of how much such temporary damage had been assigned, and as soon as the Illusion had ether been sensed or the duration expired, the damage would go away. If you start arguing this way than this would be true for each illusional spel...

Re: quick question on additional threads
There is a big difference between a simple meelee attack and extra threads: You can use additional rounds to weave more and more threads while additional successes are completely based on luck (+you already have the additional successes on your spellcasting test, increasing the spells damage too). I...

Re: Illusion "complex images"
Create a bridge and somebody stepping on it falls to death.
Create a wall and hide the complete group behind it for an ambush.
Create false gold to trade with it.
et cetera, et cetera
And just wait for the ability from the compendium where an Illusionist can make his illusions true spells

Re: Nightflyer's Cloak, what can I turn into?
Who cares if you have the difference between the animals life and your own left after losing your flying form?
You drop from whatever height to the ground and as we all know: falling damage is the most critical damage in each roleplaying game -> death
