Re: Kickstarter - past and Future
In another thread Mataxes said: I'm hoping to see that done within the next year. Right now Morgan is focusing on the mechanics for the "Mystic Paths" book (which includes new and reworked Disciplines). "Arcane Mysteries 4e" (working title) is the next one on his plate. For clarification purposes, a...

Re: Even more questions: spells
Another question, this time about 'line of sight' requirements for casting a spell. The rules clearly states that the caster MUST be certain of the target's location to cast a spell, he cannot 'guess' the location (no matter how correct the guess is) and just try and fling a spell to see if it hits ...

Re: Kickstarter - past and Future
How does the map need to be corrected? Is it not aligned with the texts? The Rugaria/Vivanne mess is the main issue indeed, but while they are at it there would be other points to fix like: - Creana (Egypt) showing that the region is smack in the middle of the desert instead of following the Nile. ...

Re: Noob Question about Karma
I just wondered: What is the benefit of a discipline to have talent X as a discipline talent? Now it is more a burden, because with talent options you have the choice whether you really want it and also a little bit when you want it. You might be seeing this backward. It's not a question of what 'b...

Social interactions
New at GM'ing here and I'm having difficulties balancing social interactions in game. My group are all new at Earthdawn but still managed to build (independently from one another) a team that is very powerful 'socially'. Stuck between stuff like Bedazzling Display of Logical Analysis, First Impressi...

Your character sheet must have been very interestingFrozenVomit wrote: ↑Sun Sep 09, 2018 6:12 pmI’m just curious where in 4e book you read that you can only have 1 option talent / circle.

Re: Maximum option talent. New talent price.
Since you can only have 1 Option Talent per circle, the theoretical limit would be whatever circle you currently have in your Discipline(s). As for the cost, (although I cant find where it is written exactly) the cost is based on the Circle when the Talent was selected, so a Optional Talent selected...

Re: Even more questions: spells
No, they don't. However you want to run it at your table is fine. However, it's impossible to teach someone how to climb when you learned it by meditating on how you are alone, then your fingers just know where to go. To sneak when shadows literally go out of their way to help and the sound of your...

Re: Even more questions: spells
Another one, related to the relationship between Talents and Skills. My understanding of Talents is that it comes (literally) magically to the Adept. The Adept just 'knows' how to do that task, this is why, if affected by a Suppress Magic effect the Adept do not even know/remember the theoretical ba...

Re: Awareness on half-magic + karma
My guess would be no. The player's page 81 states:
When you make a Half-Magic test, the gamemaster determines the Attribute most appropriate for the action the character wishes to accomplish.
thus only an Attribute could be used for Half-magic. This would be, of course, up to the GM ultimately.
