You mentioned her damage doing very little when she gets a spell off and it fustrating her... with a desperate spell bloodcharm (page 417), she can at least get one spell off with +6 effect step.

Off the top of the head, spur of the moment GM decision, id rule mount rolls stealthy stride, with say a +2 modifier to difficulty for each person its carrying whos also trying to stay low profile....or something like that.

Was just messing about and trying to take as much maths out of it, and comparing Etherials prefered method and the official one...only as i was curious. Adding to durability gives 1 health point, per circle the player is, for each thread. Official rules adding to circle gives 3(caster) 5 (utility) 7...

Yes each to their own... i was not at any point suggesting a change in rules, but Mataxes had said feel free to handle things differently as they hadent run all the numbers. Was merely saying i felt Etherials method offered better party balance, and if i was Gming it would be a better fit to my grou...

Then you will have to change all creatures Hit Points because instead of: 15 circle + 5 ranks Durability Spellcaster: 20 * 3 = plus 60 to Unc 20 * 4 = plus 80 to Death Heavy: 20 * 7 = plus 140 to Unc 20 * 8 = plus 160 to Death you get : Spellcaster: 15 * 8 = plus 120 to Unc [60 points difference] 1...

You could do it as the FAQ says, but if you do, the differences between Spellcaster Uncon and Heavy Uncon become so pronounced that the characters are practically unable to function in the same party, so I recommend against it. I like Etherials method much better for exactly that reason. And for th...

What they did is read durability as the jumps in classes.
3,5,7 etc.
so one durability point would move you to next level not a single point.
Thats how i read it very first time i looked at the rules, i know its not right from looking at the boards, but can see the logic jump.

Another question, kind of related to this thread vaguely, as water spear was mentioned.
With extra successes the spell gives +2 effect....does that apply to the recovery test with water spear, or just the damaging versions of the spell?

Thanks Etherial, it makes a bit more sense with the water spear example. It does seem odd though.... there 4 buff spells that extra threads give +1 target to... water spear, fireweave, grove renual and venemous fury. Rest all give +rank targets for the thread.... how often are you going to often nee...
