Re: [Thread Item] Everlight Bow
Great suggestions! I'm glad you like it! The main purpose of "Flare" (I'll rename it) is to provide a nice utility power for outside combat more than anything. "What's down this dark cave?" "Hold on, I'll shoot a light arrow." I hadn't thought out too much about the knock-on effect of making the tar...

Re: [Thread Item] Everlight Bow
My big questions are as follows:
(1) Is it too much to provide those simple utility abilities alongside more basic boosts? (Torchlight at rank 1 and Flare)
(2) Should the rank 6 ability cost more? Provide a bigger bonus?

[Thread Item] Everlight Bow
I have a player who was looking for a light quartz elven warbow to, I don't know, paint a target on himself. I'm sure he wanted a weapon with the dual utility of a torch, but I denied it to him for now. That said, I kinda wanted to give him mostly what he was asking for as his first thread item. Tho...

Re: Item with Thread Weaving bonus
And yes it’s to cast faster 😁 If it's to cast faster, might I make a suggestion? Give it a spell matrix. Add boosts to tests for thread weaving and/or spellcasting for only the spell(s) in the matrix. Give it an (higher-tiered) ability to use strain to allow casting a spell in the matrix as a simpl...

Re: Item with Thread Weaving bonus
Ninja'd by Anunnaki, but posting anyway.... You almost certainly don't want to conflate Thread Weaving with Spellcasting, as that can too easily overpower Spellcasting (providing little need for magicians to invest in Thread Weaving, which is one of the balances for high-power spells). Are you looki...

Re: Gained talents and improvement
Technically, QAW was a rules question:
QAI: You're probably right.[C]an an adepts improve talents gained via Thread items using legend points?

Re: Gained talents and improvement
To bring in a little rules-based rationale (RAW, if you will), relevant sentence in bold: Some Thread Ranks provide a bonus to a character’s rank in a talent (but never skill), for example, “+1 rank to Avoid Blow”. If the character does not know the talent in question, he now knows it at the indicat...

Re: Orichalcum (and True Elements)
I'm being pedantic about this, but I've not seen anything that explicitly states everything from the elemental planes are magical. It's an assumption on our part that things from other planes are de facto magical. I think it's reasonable to assume that, but I don't think it can be taken as proof tha...
