Re: Nethermancer Referendum: Gazing Long into an Abyss
Wouldn't that neccessitate objective morality? Good and evil are highly subjective categories. However I do agree with the rest of your post. A definition of evil in which all Nethermancer are evil by viture of being a Nethermancer alone and no regard to their actions is not useful by any stretch o...

Re: WIP Thread Item: The Phantom Dagger
Greetings, On a quick read through, many of the proposed effects replicate (and effectively invalidate) Warden tier talents. As well, that's a complicated series of effects with the assorted caveats. That's not something to undertake lightly, however you should do what works best for your table. Fro...

Nethermancer Referendum: Gazing Long into an Abyss
Sidestepping the original point of this thread was originally about spell recommendations... It presents a reflection of the in setting perception of Nethermancer which some try hard to shake, while others certainly don't help. A key argument for them is the world is full of dark things, that's neve...

Re: Damage Boosting Talents Issue
This doesn't present a calculation problem any more than using a weapon. Which is functionally what Claw Shape is. Since Claw Shape and Down Strike both replace Strength, it just substitutes for Strength twice in any order: Rank{DS}+(Rank{CS}+STR+3); since this is all addition, the parentheses don't...

Re: Adapting EDC Mists of Betrayal to 4th edition
Greetings, I've been working in my (limited) spare time to update adventures as something of a thought experiment, but that's not precisely relevant here. Spells. Air Blast and Resist Fire present no problems, so that's good. While Fog of Fear has been updated, it does require the Frighten talent. I...

Re: [rules?] Maneuver, Anticipate Blow, Acrobatic Defense
Hallo, Yes, Maneuver can be freely combined with Acrobatic Defense and Anticipate Blow and the bonuses stack. If your Initiative is lower than your opponent's, Anticipate Blow isn't going to work at all and you still gain the Physical Defense bonus from Maneuver, but the odds are pretty good it won'...

Re: [Magical Construct] [Horror Construct] Brass and Crystal Falsemen, Experimental
Greetings, I'm glad it was helpful. Those are just my guidelines, which I try to follow (I don't always). Some enemies can get complicated. This is especially true as tiers increase, and those with interacting powers and special maneuvers which require a little familiarity. Since this critter is for...

Re: Questors: Garlen Devotion Ability
Greetings, I'm not entirely certain what you mean by "overcome poison". If you mean a Poison Resistance test (Toughness or Iron Constitution), no, it does not apply. If you mean using Physician to treat poison (as an example), then yes, it certainly applies. If the questor is allowed to treat their ...

Re: Cancelling own spells.
Greetings, The above is correct; unless stated otherwise, the spellcaster no longer controls a spell once it is cast. While you are free to do as you please, a knack that continues to control a spell would either need to be through Tenacious Weave (implying a the spellcaster maintains a connection t...

Re: [Magical Construct] [Horror Construct] Brass and Crystal Falsemen, Experimental
Greetings, I'm going to try and keep this brief rather than getting deep into the rabbit hole of creature design. It's deep. Quite deep. Towards that end, I have two pieces of general advice with the caveat I don't always follow them, which is entirely on me. The first is to avoid situations that cr...
