I actually vote for sourcebooks and and adventures. I think that will be the most likely to get new people playing.

Doug, that's a great idea. There are a lot of things here with subtly different names and the terminology is confusing.

You have to beg, steal or borrow the Pattern Item in order to use it. You have to retain ownership. You still have to get Research Knowledge and Test Knowledge, but you might do them in reverse order - do the research to find that the item is a pattern item, acquire it, and then do Item History to v...

When something has a significant history with magic and a True Name, it acquires a True Pattern. My backyard doesn't have a True Pattern, but Kratas, the city of thieves, does. The cookies I picked up from Trader Joe's don't have a True Pattern, but the silvered dish I use to summon water elementals...

Of course, you can make a specific chart for your table if you want more predictability and transparency for yourself and your players. It will come at the cost of some flexibility.

Yes, but with a gallery for fan art, a repository for npcs & adventures, and so on. Blogs are fine, but I don't care for them as reference sources because it is awkward to browse for what you want.
