Re: Paths
Maybe anything cool about Iopos and their adept ways would strike interest. Fleshing out their bronze, silver, gold and orchialkum branches would be cool. Over all the years, my players were more keen to mess with the big Ds than Therans. I think it would also be interesting to have a group of Iopia...

I like the idea of a small blood offer before bonding to a potentially dangerous item...

Re: Cavalryman Steeds
These talents are clearly recognised!
The old system had a bad scaling towards higher circles as far as I remember because the costs for the animals were rather constant in contrast to the LP per evening of the rider.
Thanks also for declaring Thundra Beasts to be rare...

Re: Problems with circle advancement and balancing
ohhh i wholeheartedly agree its a player thing and so not a rules problem/issue, i was just sharing. Overlaps in talents are important in my view..our gm often if its applicable often lets players combine talent overlaps to either lower target numbers if one player assists another, or grant additio...

Re: Problems with circle advancement and balancing
Sometimes characters die, then someone joins with a new C1 character. Given the party can protect him in the group of C6 heroes, he gets legend points according to the bravery he showed to bring their mission forward. That is typically near what the rest gets. A friend of mine does Cnewplayer/CGroup...

Re: Cavalryman Steeds
Maybe a more crunchy question... Back in the days there had been a rule somewhere (Ed1st companion?) that an adept could spend some of his LP on advancing his mount/familiar.(a) Now I see a different (and also interesting) idea via training that has to be kept up to teach commands.(b) Is rule (a) st...

Re: Grapple rules...
Hm. You have a point there. It is already an achievement to deny a warrior his many attacks. I just remembered a few incidents at my martial arts lesson when people were held in a pretty punishing way that did not leave them many degrees of freedom except wiggling the small toe. Not even thinking of...

Re: Grapple rules...
In EDC there is head butt, pin down and mighty throw.
One can argue about the last one, it is fun, but our obsidiman really threw ridiculously big opponents onto their smaller minions. Results are really ugly.
The first two however would have been worth consideration.

Re: Grapple rules...
Hm.. It probably needs more successes to do something with unarmed combat, it should however be more than just a necessary evil to use a claw hand. Once you manage to close-in on a guy with a two handed sword, ( dangerous and exposing to the unarmed guy) he should be able to do more than just holdin...

Grapple rules...
What is the physical defense of a character that is grappled? This tank of obsidiman that grapples the guy and oops, rolls over him (for no damage?) or just kneels on his neck(Just Shiatsu!Insurance pays!) Ok, let's say the obsidiman is just holding him for extended interrogation...and say the victi...
