Re: Illusionist spells

I'm torn between making it a much higher level and simplifying the effects (to just no speaking or tool use) and reducing the duration. Dyrmagnos is right, it's totally overpowered. I'm open to suggestions. I do want the whole classic hypnotist thing were the target acts like a chicken or whatever. ...

Re: Illusion Spells

In the first case, the character would fall through the bridge because the power of delusion can't actually make you walk on air. In the second case, the character's leg stops short where the table appears to be and he feels like he has banged his shin. Now if he set a real tankard of ale on the ill...

Re: Airships, Riverboats, & Companies

Re: Balancing encounters

Thanks Razan! to make sure I understand: If you have one NPC, add 2 to the party's average circle to get the NPC's circle. If you have one NPC for every 2 PCs, add 1 to the NPC's circle. If you have two NPCs for every PC, subtract 1 from the NPCs' circle. If you have three or four NPCs for every PC,...

Re: Balancing encounters

I know that it's great to have some encounters that the PCs won't be able to defeat with sword and spell and sharpened tongue. I'm talking about tricks of the trade to help GMs know where on the continuum the encounter they just designed falls. I'm asking for me, but I'm also asking for the communit...

Balancing encounters

I know there has been at least one post about this, but I would love some general advice from everyone about balancing encounters. I know we talk about getting better with experience, but gaming time is precious, especially now that I'm running a small business. I want to plan some time this summer ...

Re: Weaponsmith: Crafting for DAYS!

I've never said this about a crafting character in any game every, but that is pretty badass.

Re: PC Magic Items

This might be a cool thing to talk through with the player and get some ideas. What kind of powers and abilities would the player be interested in? Then the GM could write some adventure opportunities that could transform the sword into a Thread Item. I've always imagined that at the moment of the t...
