Maybe you could allow people to pick extra talents from the options for the previous tier (so Novice can't, Journeyman gets to pick from Novice, and so on) This seems reasonable. I’d also see giving a free skill rank at every circle, increasing the beginning free skill ranks, or just being generous...

So I was disguised as a guy in camouflage it wouldn’t help me hide at all. Baddies would just be like hey check out that dude next to the tree in the very convincing camouflage!

TB and Typhoid in the book attack Attribute points, and the effect is permanent. I figured most diseases will just hit you with the penalties from being Debilitating - which is nasty.

Again, because I have a problem with making unnecessary rule changes, I've reworked the diseases. This reduces some of the pressure to make sure diseases are historically accurate and also makes them less permanently disabling. Which isn't historically accurate either, but I tend to lean a bit more ...

well also that you can acquire a spirit that is an ally, not just an ally spirit, without bending any rules.
