Re: ED4 Chase scenes

I was curious if others had good options for how to manage non-combat time chase scenes. Namely on foot, but other travel methods might also apply. Which Talents/Skills play a factor? Do you take Movement rate into account, or go a little more abstract? I find such things highly scene-dependent. Ca...

Re: Strength and armor based initiative penalties

But not all fighters need to be the fastest on their feet - they can just embrace their slowness. So much this. I once played a Troll Troubadour with an 8 DEX. I could only hit targets on the ground, but if I hit them, they stayed down. Playing cleanup crew can be darned fun, especially when the Ca...

Technically yes, but they did that by throwing out the absurdly easy ones.

The fly weight boxer is more likely to have been in a real fight before.

Re: Tell Me About Your Horror Mark

In one of my games, the party's Elf was targeted by Ysrthgrathe. Ysrthgrathe likes to develop abusive codependent relationships with members of long-lived races. Ysrthgrathe allowed me to GM fiat the party out of a TPK because he killed all the NPCs while the PCs were unconscious. YOU'RE WELCOME he ...

Now I'm wondering if anybody saved a copy of LRG's Table of Random Grimness.

Re: Is Multi-Disciplining Worth It?

Around Circle 8, but sometimes even before then, players often start to look at the Talents their Discipline provides and go "meh", and then notice that one can get a large bucket of Talents from another Discipline for way less Legend, and go "yay". Not every player does this, and not every characte...

Re: Earthdawn on French TV

Don't want to seem offensive, but is it possible to keep the spoken/written language here to English? I can understand the urge to exchange about origin and so on, but please keep it either in English or by personal messaging. Maybe there is a chance to establish some national forums, but I think t...

Re: Dumb Questions

Well, tell me how to calculate the expected highest roll? Each die is a convergent infinite series. If algebra isn't your thing, you can set your program to perform the summation to an arbitrary degree of accuracy. EV(D6) = 1*1/6 + 2*1/6 +3*1/6 + 4*1/6 + 5*1/6 + (6+1)*1/36 + (6+2)*1/36 + (6+...

Re: "Canonicity" of ED2

I was wondering what was the status of the material published by Living Room for Earthdawn 2nd Edition. I know that story-wise ED4 "retcons" ED2, but what about the new Disciplines, creatures and Horrors? Are they still part of the Earthdawn canon, or shall I consider that ED2 basically never exist...
