It doesn't seem to be higher than in other editions.
And I also never had problems with reattuning. :oops:
I could only see a problem there when you're playing an obsidiman or troll and just have a D4 as Karma dice.

Never played 1E. Why are you able to cast faster with an higher thread weaving talent? :shock: Just looked it up, it works just the same as in other editions: With high enough a roll you can weave multiple threads at once. But I never had problems with weaving threads and just one to three more rank...

In all my groups not a single nethermancer ever used the summing talent :|
But all those players were to lazy to read the rules for summoning and explaining it to them didn't help either.
I on my part never played a nethermancer ^^

If you read the Earthdawn novels and how and where some of the elements are mined (from the elemental space), ofcourse they have to be magical ;)

Just have it already enhanced by the Weaponsmith Skill to +4 ;)
Except it is an old weapon lying somewhere around, then the Forge Weapon effect would have already expired.

But here a list of what you can enhance:
  • Defenses
    • Physical
    • Mystic
    • Social
  • Talents (including Durability)
  • Wound Threshold
And yes, enhance means increasing the step by 1-5 :D
