Re: Cavalrymen should have the slowest mounts possible?

Just change the rule like this and it works and makes sense: "To make a charging attack, the rider must move towards the target in a relatively straight line at a speed of 10 or higher (using the mount’s standard action to move)." Havn't checked the MR of the available mounts yet. Perhaps a 12 or ev...

Re: How do Non-Adepts Journey on the Wheel? (Elvish Spiritual Belief)

What bothered me far more was that almost all the elves named follow other disciplines than needed for the Journey on the Wheel. So the Bloodwood's / Wyrmwood's palace, the (previous) centre of the elvish culture, were all disbelievers? :| I would have liked a few sentences how it came to the discip...

I like the idea that a strong buff comes with a catch.
I'm ok with this.
But increasing the chance to have this drawback with an higher circle / more ranks in Spellcasting just seems wrong.

Re: Mark of the Boar: an odd circumstance

Perhaps you can use Soothe the Savage Beast on the boar spirit? :P
But yeah, I can get your point and wouldn't know how to deal with it myself.
I think Fasa just didn't think about this situation and the spell has just no drawback, after the fight ended? Or is it really intended as described above?

Re: Is it just me, or is Invoke Leopard Pounce really strong?

The spell is basically the "Shield Bash" talent (which is Novice-tier) with a 10-yard range. The result of the Effect Test is reduced by armor, and that reduced result is both damage and Knockdown difficulty. I would then use the description of Shield Bash: The target of the spell makes a Knockdown...

Re: Is it just me, or is Invoke Leopard Pounce really strong?

Wow, it's even more powerful than read from your description. The Effect test determines how much damage is inflicted and the Knockdown Difficulty the target must resist. It's not just, that the spell forces a knockdown test against the damage taken, NO, it is against the effect test itself (and the...

Re: Nightflyer's Cloak

Sorry to revive this thread but I want to make sure I understand two more details here: Does the Adept maintain his Health Ratings while in animal form? I.e. a small bird with a Death Rating of, say, 40? Or is it the case that if the Adept takes more damage as a bird than the bird's natural Death R...

Re: Key knowledge for "common" thread items

as to why more powerful magic is harder to detect... who says it's just blasting out magic energy all over the place? more powerful magic could be more powerful because it is more tightly woven and less of it "leaks" away uselessly. unless the magic has the specific purpose of drawing attention to ...
