Re: Racial Varients

My meanest, worst, most unlovable opinion: versatility has tended towards being OP because there aren’t any interesting RP reasons to play a human in the world, with a few exceptions in the denizen book.

Re: Racial Varients

Well, versatility now is more about picking up what the internet would call one weird trick and rounding out your character. The wellspring variation is a little weaker. If you choose elf, for example, your character is mechanically an elf that can’t see in the dark.

Re: Spellcaster damage

From our PbP: Our heros have fought horror-tainted children. The party is bloody and frail, nerves stretched to the breaking point. Favu, my portly human wizard, has gone a bit down a tunnel to see if anything nasty reveals itself to his magical senses. It is bad, very bad - he honestly can't make a...

Re: Craftsman, Magical Tools

I have this house rule, but haven't had the opportunity to test it: Craft Tools (Artisan, Craftsman, Magical, Scientific) Custom craftsman, magical and scientific tools can be created for specific tasks. The TN is chosen based on the TN table in the GMG page 160. Type of task.....TN.....Cost of Tool...

Re: Fighting Kues

A mask would have been smart … I temporarily forgot they existed apparently …

I kept the attacks the same, I think (typo?). The climbing was lower because it’s heavier than a normal kue. And whatever. I’ll just go and stick a mask on it like a civilized game master.

Re: Ritual Casting

I have complete confidence that the rule is well-balanced and I think every table should use it. It just messes with my head canon. Actually, maybe here is what I should do: call it ritual casting and add a 10 minute ritual to kick it off, but keep all other restrictions and rules from chain casting...

Fighting Kues

Always made me sad that kues were such a sub-par choice for windling cavalrymen. I like the idea of them slithering out of the underbrush. I based them mostly on cheetahs, but much slower and with more armor and a bit more health. Fighting Kue Fighting Kue are common mounts for windlings cavalrymen....

Re: Ritual Casting

Yeah, like I say, I don't think it is unbalanced and I don't think anyone else needs to make a change. It just kind of messes with my head canon of what spellcasting is like.

I have some ideas, but I'm a bit too tired to write them out just yet. Again, I appreciate everyone's feedback.
