Re: New Enchanting knack
Greetings, To start—and this is extremely important to me—Shamans are not tribal. They are not medicine men. Tribe appears nowhere in their write-up. That did appear in previous editions, but it was burned to the ground and that earth salted. For good reasons. Because it ranged from mildly to deeply...

Re: Fourth Edition Errata, Clarifications, and FAQs
The text is correct and that progression continues in the Companion. Gauntlets from The Adept's Journey: Mystic Paths use the same progression.

Re: What is a Social Interaction / what is not?
Greetings, Interaction tests are described starting in the Gamemaster's Guide , starting on p. 142. The term "Interaction test" is used exclusively to refer to these five tests, which is why Interaction is always capitalized in this reference. The types of Interaction tests described are: Deceit, In...

Re: How much of the world is known?
Greetings, As etherial noted, more than just Blood Wood and Shosara are included in Elven Nations . The Western Kingdoms, which includes Sereatha, also feature prominently and the Wastes along with them. I wouldn't call the treatments from The Theran Empire comprehensive. They were broad treatments,...

Re: Question about Additional Target
Generally speaking, no, since this is heading into using additional targets to cast a damaging spell on someone twice territory and that's not going to happen. If that causes dissonance, then it has to target different characters.

Re: Question about Additional Target
Greetings, It is both. The Mystic Defense is the character's Mystic Defense. Differing Mystic Defenses on the same character (for example, affecting their equipment) was more cumbersome than useful, particularly when high Mystic Defense already provides protection to those around for area spells and...

Re: Concise Casting and Spliced Weave
The thinking never changed, Josh was simply incorrect. The reason isn't "fully charged spells," but being able to cast two spells with at least two required threads in one round. Those effects are considerably more powerful than is appropriate for two in one round. Spellcasters should not dominate c...

Re: Possible errata/clarification: Research
Greetings, The knack doesn't actually indicate that at all. It says "appropriate interval;" eight hours is an example to show a time interval reduction. If it reduced Research tests by one hour per success, it would say that instead. There is no fixed amount of time required to research something be...

Re: Shadow Meld
Josh was referring to the YouTube video, which was also exactly the video I expected.
