Re: What are the Denairastas up to in your campaign?

Perhaps he should read the 3 novels surrounding J'role the Thief? This might give him some understanding about his discipline and the world itself. And I recommend each player to read the description of atleast his own discipline in the adepts way book. The one from an older edition is sufficient. ...

Re: How I'm doing random encounters right now

I like about the card variant that I can perfectly do this in silence. Dice always shake up players. This led me to the habit of randomly throwing dice... What I don’t like about the cards is the distribution of the hazards. Weak and strong enemies are equally probable. I would propose to draw N ca...

Re: What are the Denairastas up to in your campaign?

Well, that's the problem. Like I said, I have asked him repeatedly what he's interested in seeing and his response is always "I don't know, I just... I don't know", which is particularly annoying, because he clearly stated he wasn't finding the campaign to be interesting. He's playing a thief, and I...

What are the Denairastas up to in your campaign?

A bit of a intro: I am having some trouble with a difficult player. He has admitted he's not that into the game, but I can't get him to explain what he wants. He just shrugs and says "I don't know..." So, I'm trying to throw various aspects of the setting at him. I want to set up some kind of plot i...

How I'm doing random encounters right now

In case anyone found it useful, I thought I'd share how I'm running random encounters in my ED4 campaign. Personally, I like random encounters. They're fun for me as GM- something that's even a bit of a surprise for me, and a challenge to my creativity. Also, I think it's a useful tool to illustrate...

Razorclaw, from ED3 Shards 1: Runvir's tomb

So, I'm running my group through some 3E adventures. Luckily this is easy and requires little to no conversion. However, the thread sword "Razorclaw" is damage step 10 at rank 1. This is actually +4 to damage, which is above what they seem to recommend in the GMG. Do you think I should lower this to...

How many gmc’s do you have to manage?
In this section, there are 5. There are more later in the adventure, but I think there's only 1 more social encounter, the rest is investigation and/or combat.

Re: Interaction tests too difficult?

If I was simply running an adventure I wrote myself, it wouldn't be a problem. However, this is mainly a critique of the adventure as it's written. Hopefully, a new GM will read this and adjust as necessary, if no errata comes out of it. I don’t know this adventure, but I did just post a cheatsheet ...

Interaction tests too difficult?

I was running my group through the adventure "Lip Service" and in the section "Welcome to the Poor House", the PCs need to convince the patrons of the almshouse to speak to them. This seems harder than I think I should be. First off, they all start off Unfriendly and must be made friendly before the...
