Thanks for the reply.
It's actually kind of refreshing to see poison something to be feared again. Other RPGs have gone the opposite direction and have made poison more of a nuisance. In Earthdawn it is deadly. I like that.

Poison Clarification
I actually went looking through the old forums and I'm finding that I'm rather dense on understanding this mechanic. So I'm asking it to be spelled out for me. I apologize. I'm using the Ghoul Poison as an example. Poison (10, Cacofian): If the ghoul's claws do damage to a target, the target must re...

Re: Your Earthdawn
Theran is an offshoot of Sperethriel (Blood Wood Elven). Yup and Throalic, in my game, is an offshoot of Dwarven. It was mentioned elsewhere on the forums that Theran is an offshoot of Sperethriel and the old Theran Empire book says that speakers of Sperethriel can get the gist of a conversation bu...

Re: Your Earthdawn
I haven't read the rules on what qualifies as a dead thread, so please don't ban me, bro.
I came up with the idea of "Regional Trade Tongues." Theran and Throalic are two so far. It just makes more sense to me than Dwarven (Throalic) and Dwarven (Theran).
I'll post others as the game progresses.

Re: Praise for 4th edition Earthdawn

Everything fits together very well. As for spreading the word, it can be tough. Fifth Edition D&D was released around the same ti...

Re: Initiative talk
Personally, I didn't see initiative causing combat to last that much longer. I kind of like the nostalgia aspect of rolling every round.

Re: 4ed Character Sheet
I've just started out playing again and I found the best one for me is a character sheet from 3rd Edition called the Extend Character Sheet. I'm sure it's located on the interwebs somewhere.
