Re: Balancing Astral sight
nice summary. Just to say that I think gleaming more info from patterns requires subsequent tests to "foucus" on the pattern. I don't think its meant to be possible to learn everything in one good enough roll. Note on the side, as some people pointed out Patterncraft - this talent is not used to stu...

Re: Airship Altitude
Just found this in the Terror in the Skies: The galley soars higher and higher, until Yorlk the steersman tells Drimsby that the Runner has reached the sailing lane. With the dangerous ascent over, half the crew stands down. Their work—and yours—will begin again in eight hours, when you relieve thos...

Re: Airship Altitude
Ok I made some quick assumptions without explaining. 25% worth of successes to stay aloft - true. But low-grade sailors (non-adepts) would likely have the skill at 2 and around step 5 for willpower which equals to step 7 for the Air Sailing test. Since the step is the average result, you are guarant...

Re: Question: Thread Weaving and Spellcasting
I tend to narrate that threadweaving IS visible to an extent justified by the spell. Combat spells tend to be more "flashy". Illusions can be hard to spot or discern from a regular motion. Social talents can be like Obi-Wan and his "these are not the droids you are looking for" hand wave, subtle and...

Re: Airship Altitude
This is a great thread! Here is my take, although I've started GMing Terror in the Skies just now, so not much experience in the matter :) I lean heavily on the Law of Similarity when I think of Airships - they behave mostly like a sea-faring vessel - i.e if it keels over, it sinks. There is no savi...

Re: Gained talents and improvement
Now this turned quickly into a dick thread
Anyway thanks for the opinions. And yes - QAI was about a house rule
Anyway I was milling over this and honestly came to the same conclusion as the rest of you guys. It was just a weak moment on my part, having considered something like that.

Re: order of combat steps
For me, the damage test is part of the attack. And you check attack conditions at the time of making it. It may well be that some special effect trigger of the result of attack test, but that is clearly mentioned in the description. RAW to use surprise strike you need to attack a knocked down ( or s...

Re: Trading House Campaign.
You already have nice adventure hooks above. Let me throw a random list at you: 1. Secure abandoned mine -> find workers -> escort them -> escort caravan with ore -> sell it good and hire a mercenary company to do escort duty from now on 2. Your trade route happens to go through Ork scorcher territo...

Re: Razorclaw, from ED3 Shards 1: Runvir's tomb
For some reason I loved the Runvirs tomb adventure, and the way I played it out was much more epic. And because of that I re-made Razorclaw into a fully legendary item with up to Thread rank 8. It also became a Crystal Troll Sword that Dortial found and used to defend Herself in the Tomb. use it if ...

Gained talents and improvement
Good day! I'm considering something: can an adepts improve talents gained via Thread items using legend points? Simple answer is NO, but... when I think about it, it's a bit like Versatility. As long as the adept has access to the Thread, the Talent is available. If the adept ever looses the Thread ...
